A weather update predicts rain and storms hitting Pakistan soon. Starting from April 24, a westerly wave will move into the western regions of Pakistan, gradually spreading across most upper areas by April 26.
This weather system will bring rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms to many regions. Expect moderate to heavy rainfall in places like Murree, Islamabad, Lahore, and Faisalabad from April 26 to 29. Other areas, including Dera Ghazi Khan and Multan, will also experience sporadic rain from April 26 to 28, with chances of hailstorms.
Balochistan, too, will see its share of rain and storms from April 24 to 27, affecting places like Quetta and Gwadar. Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will experience rain, wind, and even snow in mountainous areas from April 25 to 29. Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir won’t be spared either, with snowfall in high-altitude places like Skardu and Gilgit from April 26 to 29.
Sindh will witness dust storms and light rain on April 25 and 26 in cities like Sukkur and Larkana. However, the Met Office cautions about the risk of flash floods in Balochistan and some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir. Landslides are also a concern in these areas and in northern regions from April 27 to 29.
Farmers are advised to take precautions for their crops, especially those in wheat-growing areas. Similarly, tourists should avoid unnecessary travel during this period. Expect temperatures to drop during the wet weather. Stay safe and stay informed!
