Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif made a special visit to the Social Welfare Complex Township on Wednesday, where she dedicated most of her Eid day to spending time with homeless special children, women, and the elderly.

During her visit, she toured the facilities including “Chaman,” “Aafiyyat,” and “Darul Falah” within the Social Welfare Complex. She swiftly directed officials to arrange for an elderly woman to go on Hajj at government expense. Additionally, she distributed gifts, toys, and sweets among the residents and shared in the joy by cutting an Eid cake with the special children, feeding them personally.

Beginning her visit at the center for destitute children, “Chaman,” Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif engaged with the children, inquiring about their education and interests. The children expressed their gratitude for the gifts, thrilled by her presence.

Moving on to the Old Age Home “Aafiyyat,” meant for homeless senior citizens, she personally interacted with the residents, ensuring their well-being. She even spent time with a sick woman, adorning her with bangles, and conveyed greetings from Nawaz Sharif to the elders.

One elderly lady expressed her happiness, stating, “My near and dear ones did not come on Eid, but my daughter Maryam has come, I am very happy.” In response, Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized her dedication to serving the people and the importance of valuing parents.

Continuing her visit, she visited “Darul Falah,” a shelter for destitute widows, where she embraced the orphans and widows, spreading love and warmth. The residents expressed their joy at having the Chief Minister among them, offering prayers for her well-being.

Accompanying her were Social Welfare Minister Sohail Shaukat Butt, Information Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari, Special Assistant Zeeshan Malik, the chief secretary, and other officials.
