Lahore Zoo is getting a big makeover! It will be closed to visitors for three months starting from November 7. The Punjab government is very interested in making Lahore Zoo and Zoo Safari better. The Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, wants to improve these places. During this time, they’ll add new facilities and bring in new animals. The zoo and safari will be closed for construction work, but don’t worry, it will be worth it!

Azeem Zafar, the Director of Lahore Zoo, told Dawn newspaper that they’re spending a huge amount, Rs1.836 billion, on this project. They plan to extend the parking area and introduce a smart parking system with the help of computers and apps. They’re also building special enclosures for leopards, lions, and tigers. These enclosures will have glass walls so visitors can get a close look. There will be a modern food court and even a hologram zoo! They’re also making a vet hospital and improving the homes of large animals like hippos and giraffes.

The food court will have an amphitheater, and they’re upgrading office buildings and adding an auditorium. They’re not just renovating; they’re also bringing in new animals. They’ll get pandas, rhinos, hippos, giraffes, penguins, jaguars, and many more! There will also be new birds, turtles, tortoises, and snakes.

During the renovation, the animals will be moved to other wildlife facilities in Punjab. Mudassar Hassan, Deputy Director of Publicity for the Wildlife and Parks Department, says they’re also building new homes for tigers and other animals. They’re creating special areas themed around the Salt Range and the desert. Plus, there will be a fancy new fish aquarium!

So, while Lahore Zoo will be closed for a few months, it’s all for a good cause. When it reopens, it will be even more amazing than before!
