The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has fined nine eateries and issued warnings to two others during a recent operation overseen by Director General Muhammad Asim Javaid. Expired ketchup, prohibited Chinese salt, and substandard cooking oil were discarded during inspections in Johar Town and on Shuakat Khanam Road. Violations included frying food in rancid oil, lacking expired food records, poor storage, and hygiene standards. Ahead of Ramadan, all food businesses will be inspected as per the directives of the Punjab chief minister.
