The government of Sindh has announced that all schools and colleges in the province will be closed on April 1st in observance of Youm-e-Ali.
A notification released by the government stated that both public and private educational institutions across Sindh will remain shut on Monday.
The decision was made based on the approval of the competent authority, following discussions in a meeting of the Sub Committee of Steering Committee held on November 13, 2023. The School Education and Literacy Department, Government of Sindh, declared the holiday for Youm-e-Hazrat Ali (RA) on Monday, April 1, 2024, as per the notification.
Youm-e-Ali is observed annually on the 21st of Ramadan. It is a day to commemorate the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA), and large processions are held across the country in his honor.
