The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) anticipates heavy rains and thunderstorms in various regions of the country during Eidul Fitr, as reported by ARY News.
As per the Met Office, a westerly wave is expected to approach the upper parts of Pakistan starting from April 10, followed by another robust westerly wave on April 12. This weather system may encompass most parts of the country from April 13 to April 15.
The PMD has outlined a range of weather patterns across Pakistan, coinciding with the festive preparations for Eidul Fitr.
The Met Office forecasts rains accompanied by thunderstorms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, and other regions from April 10 to 15, with intermittent breaks.
Similarly, areas including Waziristan, Kohat, and Peshawar are likely to witness heavy rains from April 12 to 15, with isolated heavy falls and hailstorms expected from April 13 to 15.
In Sindh, cities like Sukkur and Larkana are expected to experience thunderstorms on April 13 and 14, with isolated occurrences anticipated in Karachi and Hyderabad.
Furthermore, regions like Murree, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi are expected to witness rain and thunderstorms from April 10, continuing intermittently until April 15.
In Punjab, cities such as Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan may experience heavy rainfall from April 12 evening till April 15, with isolated wind and hailstorms expected from April 13 to 15.
Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir are also on the forecast, with regions like Diamir and Muzaffarabad expecting rain and thunderstorms during the mentioned period.
Balochistan’s Zhob and Quetta are among the areas expected to receive rain accompanied by thunderstorms from April 12 to April 14.
