Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Tuesday that the government would declare an education emergency across the country. He promised to allocate all possible resources to ensure that children from poor families receive an education.

Sharif pledged to expand free education opportunities for deserving children by establishing Daanish Schools in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, as well as remote areas of Balochistan and Sindh. He aimed to fulfill the vision of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

Speaking at a ceremony held to inspect a site for a Daanish School in the Kuri area of the federal capital, the Prime Minister emphasized that it’s not the fault of impoverished children if their parents cannot afford quality education. He criticized barriers like the iron gates of prestigious schools hindering access to quality education for these children. Sharif assured that the doors of Daanish Schools are open to them.
