pakistan railways announces 25 percent fare reduction for eid travelers

Pakistan Railways (PR) has declared a 25% decrease in ticket prices for all passenger trains during the first, second, and third days of Eid. This move aims to make travel more affordable for passengers during the festive season.

Additionally, PR has revised the timetable for all trains, making adjustments to departure and arrival times for certain express trains. These changes include allowing some trains to make stops at specific railway stations, which aims to enhance passenger experience and increase revenue for the railways.

The discounted fares are applicable only for current bookings and do not extend to Eid special trains. The notification from the PR’s senior rates officer emphasizes that the reduced fares are exclusively for passenger trains managed by PR during the specified days of Eid.

Moreover, PR has introduced a summer timetable, modifying the schedules of several trains such as Awam Express, Millat Express, and Zakria Express, among others. Some trains, like Hazara Express, have been authorized to make additional stops at stations like Dehrki, Abdul Hakim, and Baldher for passenger convenience.

In administrative news, Hanif Gull, the superintendent of PR’s Lahore division, has been given the additional responsibility of overseeing the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club administrator’s office by the Ministry of Railways.
