Punjab’s leader, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, told the authorities to ensure strong security during Eidul Fitr celebrations. She said that the police and other security teams should be watchful during Chaand Raat and Eidul Fitr. Maryam Nawaz Sharif also ordered that the best security should be arranged for Eid prayers, especially in mosques and Imambargahs. She asked for extra police to be placed in markets and shopping areas. The chief minister stressed that senior police officers should personally check security arrangements. She added that the police must work hard to maintain peace and follow the security plan properly. Additionally, Maryam Nawaz Sharif congratulated Yusuf Raza Gilani on becoming the Senate Chairman and Syedal Khan on becoming the Deputy Chairman. She hoped they would effectively address the nation’s challenges and support the country’s prosperity.
