A police investigation officer in Punjab got arrested for allegedly accepting bribes from manufacturers of chemical kite strings.

A special police team caught Ibrahim, who was in charge of investigations at the Ghulam Mohammadabad police station in Punjab, red-handed. He was allegedly taking a bribe from chemical kite string manufacturers in Faisalabad.

In response to this incident, the Regional Police Officer (RPO) suspended all the staff, including Station House Officer (SHO) Ali Imran, at the Ghulam Mohammadabad police station. Additionally, the RPO instructed SSP Operations Hasan Javed to conduct an inquiry into the matter.

Despite efforts, authorities have been unsuccessful in controlling the use of metallic kite strings, which continue to endanger human lives. In Karachi’s Nazimabad area, a minor boy was hospitalized after being injured by a stray kite string while riding a bike with his father.

The young boy fell victim to a stray kite string while traveling with his father on a motorcycle towards the Site area. Fortunately, the child’s condition is stable.
