Ghazanfar Azzam, the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mobilink Bank, has decided to resign from his position after serving for 12 years. His departure was announced on Monday.

During his leadership, Mobilink Bank saw significant growth and solidified its position as a leading player in the microfinance sector. Azzam spearheaded the bank’s rapid transition to digital platforms, enhancing its financial stability, operational flexibility, and readiness for the future.

In light of Azzam’s resignation, Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Mobilink Bank, has been appointed as the interim CEO, effective April 29, 2024. However, this appointment is subject to approval from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The board of directors (BoD) has initiated the search for a permanent CEO who will carry forward the bank’s mission and ensure its long-term success.

Aamir Ibrahim, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Mobilink Bank and CEO of JAZZ, expressed gratitude to Ghazanfar Azzam for his dedicated service and wished him well in his future endeavors.
