Rising Poultry Prices Strain Punjab Consumers During Ramadan

rising poultry prices strain punjab consumers during ramadan

LAHORE: The cost of chicken in Punjab has gone up during Ramadan, but the government hasn’t taken strong action against those making big profits.

This rise in prices is making it harder for people to buy, with poultry meat now selling for Rs 650 to 660 per kg in local markets. That’s a big jump of 30% in just a month, making the market very unstable.

The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has told officials to keep an eye on prices in all markets across the province.

As Eid-ul-Fitr approaches, chicken prices continue to rise every day in Punjab.
