punjab government launches free wifi service in lahore

The Punjab government has started a new service in Lahore. Now, people can use the internet for free at 50 different places in the city. This is the first step, and more spots will come soon to help many people who use the internet.

The Chief Minister of Punjab is happy with how the free WiFi service is working. She is making sure that the promises made are kept. She said that 50 spots in Lahore now have free WiFi, and they will add more places later.

The decision to start this project was taken in a recent meeting between the Chief Minister and officials from the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). They talked about improving the internet services and making it easier for people to use.

The Chief Minister asked the PITB to focus on schools, airports, train stations, and bus stops for the free WiFi service. This way, more people will be able to use the internet for free.

This project will help 516 places in Lahore get better internet access. The government had started this free WiFi service back in 2013, but it stopped because bills were not paid. Now, it’s back again to help people use the internet easily.
