Pakistan Railways has made all necessary arrangements to operate four special trains for Eid Al-Fitr, helping passengers travel to their hometowns for celebrations, as reported by Pakistani state media.
Eid Al-Fitr is a significant event for Muslims worldwide, marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. On this day, Muslims perform special prayers, gather with family, indulge in feasts, and engage in recreational activities.
The first Eid special train will depart from Karachi to Peshawar, according to state broadcaster Radio Pakistan.
The schedule indicates that the initial special train will leave Karachi for Peshawar on April 7 at 6:00 am. Simultaneously, the second train will depart from Quetta to Rawalpindi on the same day at 10:00 am.
On April 8, the third train is scheduled to depart from Karachi Cantonment to Lahore at 9:00 pm, followed by the last Eid special passenger train departing from Lahore to Karachi on April 9 at 5:00 pm.
Railway authorities have advised passengers to adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) while traveling on the trains and within stations, ensuring safety.
The Pakistani government has declared a four-day holiday from April 10 to April 13 in observance of Eid Al-Fitr
